HOUSE BILL 786 | SENATE BILL 737
PUBLIC SAFETY -- RIFLES & SHOTGUNS -- TRANSACTIONS
Certain lawmakers within the Maryland General Assembly will seemingly never abandon their quest to impede gun
ownership. Year after year law-abiding gun owners must come to Annapolis to defend their constitutional rights against an
ever-encroaching tide of anti-gun legislation pursued by an insular few who think they know what's best for the safety and
well-being of the citizenry.
House Bill 786 | Senate Bill 737 fit right into this anti-gun faction narrative.
This time, however, they've set their sights on rifles and shotguns, the two primary firearms used by sportsmen and
sportswomen to hunt and target practice. Simply put, these commonly used and owned firearms would, if House Bill
786 | Senate Bill 737 are enacted, be restricted and regulated in the same manner as handguns.
The not so subtle intended purpose: end gun ownership one firearm at a time.
The Maryland Hunting Coalition not only vehemently opposes House Bill 786 | Senate Bill 737 for reasons
self-evident to law abiding gun owners, but will convey the same to all sportsmen and sportswomen in Maryland so
they too might truly come to understand the far-reaching efforts of a narrow-minded few who mistakenly think they
know better than everyone else.
